Privacy policy

1. Who we are. This website (getknoc.in) is operated by MARV Consumer LLP, acting as the "Data Fiduciary" under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under them.

2. Data we collect

  • Identity and contact: name, email address, phone number.
  • Order data: shipping and billing address, products purchased, order value, communications with us.
  • Payment data: processed by Razorpay. We do not store card, UPI or bank credentials. We receive only confirmation, transaction reference and status.
  • Newsletter data: your email address when you subscribe.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and cookie identifiers.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data such as health records. Please do not send us medical information.

3. Purposes. We process your data on the basis of your consent or as needed for permitted purposes (such as fulfilling your order or complying with law), to:

  • process, ship and deliver orders, and handle returns and refunds;
  • send transactional messages (order confirmation, shipping updates);
  • respond to support requests;
  • send marketing communications (recipes, launches, offers) only if you have opted in;
  • prevent fraud, keep our systems secure and improve the website;
  • comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

4. Consent and withdrawal. By submitting your details you consent to the processing described here. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, by replying STOP to WhatsApp messages, or by emailing help@getknoc.in. Withdrawal does not affect processing already done, and we may still process data needed to fulfil open orders or meet legal duties.

5. Email and WhatsApp. We may contact you by email and WhatsApp for order updates. We send marketing over these channels only with your opt-in.

6. Who we share data with. Only service providers who process data on our behalf, under appropriate obligations:

  • Shopify (store hosting, checkout, email);
  • Razorpay (payments);
  • Shiprocket and courier partners (shipping);
  • Google Workspace (business email);
  • analytics and advertising tools, if you accept cookies.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law, court order or government authority, or to protect our legal rights.

7. Transfers outside India. Some providers, including Shopify, may store or process data on servers outside India. We use such providers only where the transfer is permitted under applicable law.

8. Cookies. We use cookies to keep your cart, remember preferences, secure checkout and understand site usage. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may not function.

9. Security. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a personal data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

10. Retention. We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, and for as long as tax, accounting and other laws require. Then we delete or anonymise it.

11. Your rights. Subject to the DPDP Act, you may:

  • request a summary of the personal data we process and the parties we have shared it with;
  • request correction, completion or updating of your data;
  • request erasure of your data, unless we must retain it by law;
  • withdraw consent;
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity;
  • have your grievance addressed.

To exercise these rights, email help@getknoc.in. We aim to respond within 30 days. If we don't resolve your grievance, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.

12. Children. Our website is not directed at persons under 18. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Third-party links. Our site may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

14. Changes. We may update this policy. The current version is always posted here with its effective date. Material changes will be notified where required.
